The air temperature can be way different then pavement! Walking your dog on hot pavement can be extremely painful and hazardous on your pets paws, to prevent this try the seven-second rule this will tell you if it’s ok for your pet to walk on that pavement. Place the back of your hand or your foot on the pavement, If you cannot hold it there for seven seconds it’s too hot to walk your dog on the pavement. Walk on grassy area or shaded areas, meadows, early morning or late evenings. Be mindful of what time you walk your dogs, don’t let this happened to them.

Temperatures can rise to dangerous levels in just minutes, putting your dog at risk of heatstroke, It doesn’t have to be super hot outside for your car to heat up. The inside of a vehicle parked in 70-degree fahrenheit weather can reach 100 degrees fahrenheit in just 20 minutes, don’t chance it travel with another adult who can remain in the vehicle with the air conditioner on. Some signs of heatstroke are heavy panting, glazed eyes, a rapid heartbeat, difficulty breathing, excessive thirst, lethargy, fever, dizziness, lack of coordination, profuse salivation, vomiting, a deep red or purple tongue, seizure and unconsciousness.
